Toll issue: Flight passengers struggle without taxis

catsThe toll row has taken a toll on taxi services at Kempegowda International Airport, as protests continued for the second day against the steep hike in toll.
As a result, several air travellers had problems getting taxis and reaching their respective destinations.
The steep hike in toll tariff on vehicles bound to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) at Sadahalli on Bellary Road by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been greeted with a wave of indignation from regular road users.
However, NHAI has defended its overnight nearly four-fold increase in toll rates on National Highway 7, leading to Kempegowda International Airport.
According to A K Mathur, Chief General Manager, NHAI, the new toll rates were implemented according to the national toll policy.
